Universal Music

Universal Music Group is an American global music corporation and was founded in September 1934. Before Universal Music Group it used to be two separate companies; The Decca Record and MCA Inc. They merged together in 1962. In 2006 Universal Music Group became completely owned by the French media company Vivendi. Universal Music Group co-developed VEVO which allows people to stream music for free. In May 2007 Universal Music Group was accused of abusing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act when the got YouTube to remove several videos from their website for using their music.
