Ethan Hawke was born on November the 6th 1970 and is an american actor, writer and director. He was nominated for 4 Academy Awards and a Tony Award. He was nominated twice for the Academy Award for best adapted screenplay and the Academy Award for best supporting actor. Ethan was nominated for a Tony Award for best featured actor when he performed in Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia. His first film debut was with Explorers which was science fiction film in 1985. Ethan Hawke has also directed a music video and written a book besides acting in films. The song Stay by Lisa Loeb was directed by Ethan Hawke and he published his first book called 'The Hottest State' in 1996. He made a breakthrough appearance in 1989 in Dead Poet's Society which is an american drama directed by Peter Weir. In 2002 he made his directorial debut with Chelsea Walls which turned out to be very unsuccessful. Ethan starred in a 2005 remake of John Cartpenter's 1976 Assault on Precinct 13 which was received quite well however, there were some people who preferred the original over the remake.
